Marina Cooper, Sunshine Coast naturopath and herbalist

Hi, I’m Marina. It’s great to see you here.

I grew up in the rich cultural landscape of Arnhem Land before moving to a large property in the NSW bushland. Those early years instilled in me an immeasurable love and deep fascination with our natural world.

I was a wild farm kid who stacked motorbikes and swam in muddy dams and creeks, but also spent countless hours alone on my horse. With no one for miles, I fell in love with observing Mother Nature, her rhythms, patterns, and wildness

Return to my Roots

After living abroad for 22 years, I felt a deep homesickness and an undeniable pull back to my roots. That call led me to immerse myself in the teachings of the plants.

I sold most of my wardrobe on eBay and filled my shelves with books on herbal traditions, medical astrology, alchemy, wildcrafting, medicine making, and the healing systems of the world. I pored over books and websites, took numerous courses, and spent every day outside in nature, observing and wildcrafting.

My Path to Formal Study

My heart and path were forged, and not long after I returned to Australia with my husband, our three kids, and English bulldog Zeppy, I chose to formally study natural medicine through a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Naturopathy).

However, being human upon this earth is never without challenges. Along the way, I grieved the loss of two beautiful doggies, healed from crippling anxiety after some enormous life events, switched jobs, moved house twice, and juggled the usual parenting circus, all on very little sleep.

Where I am Today

I’m a down-to-earth, compassionate, heart-centred, chatty, warm introvert and forever a student of Mother Nature. My work is guided by a deep love of the wild and our natural world and a belief that healing is not just about fixing symptoms but about reconnecting with nature and our whole self.

My husband and I are still juggling parenting and all the moving parts of life, but I absolutely love what I do. I’m running my own naturopathy business and studying for a Master of Advanced Naturopathic Medicine. This ongoing learning satisfies my deep passion for knowledge, allowing me to bring greater insight and care to the clients I have the pleasure and privilege of supporting.

Thank you for reading my story.

My Approach

Alongside my personal journey, my professional approach has also been shaped by years of study and practice. Here’s what you can expect when working with me:

  • I see you as a whole, unique person, not just a set of symptoms.

  • I take time to understand your individual health story by listening and working hard to uncover the root cause of any imbalances and what is driving your symptoms.

  • I offer treatment plans that are realistic, achievable, and tailored to suit your budget and lifestyle.

  • I do not overprescribe – we will work slowly for sustainable results you value.

  • My goal is to empower you to achieve optimal health by giving you the tools, so you don’t feel you need to keep coming back to me every month.

  • I blend evidence-based naturopathy, herbal medicine, nutrition, lifestyle support, and functional testing when needed.

  • My aim is always to restore balance by working with you and your body’s natural rhythms to build long-term resilience, so you can feel yourself again.
